Tyrell Malacia, the former Manchester United defender, is currently participating in training with FC Cincinnati, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS). The 27-year-old defender is looking for a new challenge after leaving Old Trafford and hopes to reignite his professional career.
End of the Nightmare at Manchester United
Malacia's nightmare at Manchester United finally came to an end this summer when the club released him after four years. During his final season, he played only 15 minutes on the pitch, which put him under significant pressure. Now, he hopes that training with FC Cincinnati will provide a suitable environment for his return to the field.

Injuries and Challenges in His Career
Malacia's career at Manchester United was fraught with challenges, the most significant of which was a serious knee injury. This injury kept him off the field for 17 months, and after undergoing two knee surgeries, he struggled to perform well on the pitch. Out of the 25 matches he played during this period, only 11 were in his first three years with the team.
Malacia also had a short loan spell at PSV Eindhoven in 2025, where he played 12 matches. But now, with dreams of reviving his career, he has joined FC Cincinnati.
FC Cincinnati has stated that these training sessions are an opportunity for both parties to determine whether Malacia and the team are a good fit for each other. The team also noted its good relationship with Malacia's agent and expressed hope that this collaboration would lead to a permanent contract.
Malacia is well aware of what he needs to return to his peak form. He hopes that with regular training and effort at FC Cincinnati, he can regain his place in the football world and return to his good days.
