Volkswagen has unveiled its latest and most powerful hatchback named ID.3 GTI. This model is not only recognized as the strongest GTI in its history but also the first rear-wheel-drive model to carry these legendary three letters.

Unmatched Power and Acceleration

The electric motor of this vehicle operates with a power of 322 horsepower (bhp), which is one horsepower more than the Golf GTI Edition 50 model. The ID.3 GTI can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.6 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds slower than the special Golf GTI model and three-tenths of a second faster than the standard gasoline model.

Transition to the Electric World

With the introduction of the ID.3 GTI, Volkswagen shows its intention to transfer its famous names to the new generation of electric vehicles. This car comes with a 79 kWh battery and has an official maximum range of 376 miles. However, it is not expected that owners will come close to this figure, as the ID.3 GTI is designed as a high-speed hatchback.

This vehicle is capable of charging speeds up to 183 kW and can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in less than half an hour. Despite being electric, Volkswagen officials believe that the ID.3 GTI will have all the features of a true GTI and will provide the flexible space and everyday usability that customers expect from the brand's hatchbacks.

Unique Features and Interior Design

The ID.3 GTI comes with unique features such as a new GTI driving mode that is activated by pressing a button on the steering wheel. This mode allows the driver to experience the full power of the vehicle and access launch control. Additionally, the suspension becomes stiffer and the interior lighting turns red.

Inside the car, a new design of classic GTI textured fabrics is presented, and the digital display shows a revamped version of the classic first-generation GTI dials. The ID.3 GTI will initially be sold in Germany, and customer deliveries in the UK are expected to begin in early 2027. Prices have not yet been confirmed, but they are likely to start at around £45,000.
