Reverse Wearing Technique: Pros and Cons
While this technique seems to improve sound quality, some users have also pointed out its downsides. The main microphone of the AirPods is located at the bottom of the stem, so if the headphones are used backwards, the quality of phone calls may decrease.
One user on Reddit wrote: "The microphone's performance is likely to be affected because the microphone's head is facing upwards. If you're not making phone calls, then you can use them however you like."
Another user said: "The microphone is not facing the mouth and part of the ear structure covers it, so this position is not ideal for phone calls." These comments highlight the challenges users may face.
This news comes as Apple has recently introduced the AirPods 5. This new model features an open active noise cancellation system that reduces external noise by 50% more than previous models.
