Larry Lamb, the 78-year-old actor and star of the popular series "Gavin & Stacey," announced his return to cohabitation with his former partner, Claire Bart. The two, who have two daughters, are now living together again after separating in 2016.
Living together again as friends
Larry said in the "Rosebud" podcast with Gyles Brandreth: "After 15 years of living together with the mother of my daughters and separating for about seven to nine years, we are now under one roof again and have a friendly life." He added, "We live as friends, and I can highly recommend this kind of life. After our initial experience, this decision has been very positive for us."
The actor referred to Claire, saying: "She is an amazing woman, as putting up with me is not an easy task." Larry also mentioned dividing his time between North London and a converted barn in Normandy, France, but did not specify the exact location of their shared living arrangement.
Romantic relationships and a complicated history
Larry Lamb has a colorful history in his romantic relationships. He has been married three times and has had four other serious relationships. He said about his past relationships: "We seriously had no infidelity during these relationships. When you live with seven wives, you don't have enough time for cheating." He also jokingly said, "I had seven marriages, including three formal ones and four long-term relationships."
Larry's first marriage was to Anita Wisbey in 1969, which was due to Anita's pregnancy. This marriage ended very quickly. After that, he married an American nurse named Jackie Prise and then married Scottish entrepreneur Linda Martin in 1979. The two separated in 1996 and have a son named George.
Larry also has two daughters named Elwyse and Eva with Claire. He stated that due to his childhood experiences, he has always been in search of love, which has led to a repetitive pattern in his relationships. He expressed, "A woman's friendly gaze could quickly make me fall in love."
While reminiscing about his relationships, the actor noted that he realized with his third marriage that he could not go down that path again. He said, "When I got married for the third time, I realized I couldn't do it again."
