Malang Air Base in Xinjiang Province, China, is recognized as one of the centers for testing next-generation stealth weapons. This base has recently gained attention with images of a new and mysterious aircraft known as the WZ-X. This aircraft features a large flying wing design and is said to be capable of reaching any city in the United States.
Concerns About China's Superiority
Andreas Ruprecht, an aviation researcher and expert on Chinese military aircraft, warns that China is surpassing the United States in this new arms race. Ruprecht emphasizes that China is currently testing at least six joint fighter aircraft that have larger size and power compared to previous models.
According to satellite images, Malang has become the main testing center for drones and other advanced military technologies. This base is specifically designed for long-duration flights, reconnaissance, and high-altitude surveillance, and it appears that China is developing even more frightening weapon systems at five other secret bases across the country.
Expansion of Activities at Secret Bases
Ruprecht also points to the Lop Nur base, where new tests on modern fighter aircraft are being conducted. This base, located in a remote desert, is known as a site for China's nuclear weapons testing and seems to be currently developing new technologies for aerial warfare.
While Malang Base is recognized as one of the testing centers for China's military aircraft, Ruprecht believes that this base is not as secretive as the famous U.S. base, Area 51. However, the development and expansion of the infrastructure at this base clearly indicate its importance in China's military programs.
The Chinese government is currently testing advanced aircraft such as the J-20 and J-36 at various bases, and with the expansion of military bases, concerns about the arms race in the future have increased. Nevertheless, Ruprecht emphasizes that there are still no signs of a major conflict, but China's rapid advancements in military fields could pose a serious threat to the United States and its NATO allies.
