West Ham United honored the memory of Ludek Miklosko, their legendary goalkeeper, ahead of the Carabao Cup match against Fulham. This tribute ceremony was held following the announcement of Miklosko's passing at the age of 64 due to a long battle with cancer.

As the match at the London Stadium was about to begin, players from West Ham and Fulham paid tribute to the great goalkeeper, Miklosko, with a minute of applause in the center of the pitch, and images of him were displayed on the stadium's big screens.
Tomas Soucek, the injured West Ham midfielder, held up a goalkeeper shirt with Miklosko's name and number one at one of the goals and then gently placed it in front of the home fans. This act demonstrated the players' love and respect for Miklosko and his impact on the team.
Miklosko's Legacy in West Ham History
Ludek Miklosko recorded 126 clean sheets during his eight-year tenure at West Ham and is remembered as one of the best goalkeepers in the club's history. He is particularly remembered for a series of inspirational saves in crucial matches, especially in the 1995 season when he prevented Manchester United from winning the title.
Miklosko, who joined West Ham from Banik Ostrava for £300,000, returned to the club as a goalkeeping coach after his playing career ended, and fans still chant his name with enthusiasm at every game.
On Monday, West Ham players held a minute of silence in memory of Miklosko before starting their training, and this ceremony was repeated before the match against Fulham. Additionally, plans are in place for a memorial event during next month's game against Queens Park Rangers, where Miklosko spent the last three years of his professional career.
Miklosko, who made 42 international appearances for Czechoslovakia and participated in the 1990 World Cup, was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and announced three years later that he would no longer pursue additional treatments.
His son, Martin, stated in a message: 'We are deeply saddened to hear of my father Ludek's passing after a brave and valiant battle with cancer. On behalf of my mother and my family, I would like to thank the fans and all members of West Ham United for their love, thoughts, and prayers during my father's illness.'
He also added: 'We will always remember how many messages and wishes from his teammates and fans gave him comfort and strength. My father loved West Ham United dearly and enjoyed hearing his name at every game. This club and its fans will always be part of our family.'
