A Story Based on a Classic Novel
The series 'East of Eden', based on John Steinbeck's classic novel from 1952, will premiere on October 1. Florence Pugh plays the role of Cathy Ames, the main character and anti-heroine of the story. Cathy is married to Adam Trask and challenges the narrative.
Zoe Kazan, the writer of this new adaptation, says about casting Florence: 'I had no other option. She is exactly the right person to play Cathy. Her awareness of the camera is incredible, and I consider her a genius.'

However, Florence recently announced that due to work pressures, she needs time to rest and recharge. In an interview, she stated: 'I've been saying for a long time that I need to slow down, but I never did. Now I want to focus more on my family and friends.'
